Good to know

What the tool does, exactly

What counts as empty

A row is empty when every cell is blank or contains only whitespace. Rows with at least one value are kept, even if most of their cells are blank.

Empty columns

Exports often include columns that were never filled in. With “Also remove empty columns” on, any column whose data cells are all blank is removed, header included.

Private by design

The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded, so it’s safe for customer lists and financial exports.

Questions

About remove empty rows
Is the header row ever removed?

No. When “First row is a header” is on, the header is always kept, and it is never used to decide whether a column is empty.

What about rows that are just commas?

A line such as “,,,” has four blank cells, so it counts as empty and is removed.

Can I remove rows that are only partly empty?

Not with this tool; it only removes rows with no values at all. To find rows with some blank cells, use the CSV validator or fill the blanks instead.
