Good to know

What the tool does, exactly

Fill with a value

Every blank or whitespace-only cell in the chosen columns gets the value you type. Use a clear placeholder such as “Unknown” or “0”, depending on what the column means.

Fill down

Grouped reports often show a value once and leave the rows beneath it blank. Fill down copies the last value above into each blank cell, so every row stands on its own when you sort or filter.

Private by design

The file is processed in your browser and never uploaded, so it’s safe for customer lists and financial exports.

Questions

About fill blank cells
Are completely empty rows filled?

No. Rows with no values at all are left as they are, so they don’t turn into misleading records. Remove them with the empty rows tool.

Does “N/A” count as blank?

No. Only cells that are empty or contain nothing but whitespace are filled. Text such as “N/A” or “null” is treated as a value.

What happens at the top of a column when filling down?

A blank cell with no value above it stays blank, because there is nothing to copy.
