Terms of use

The ground rules for using CleanYourDataset, in plain language. By creating an account you agree to them.

Using the service

CleanYourDataset lets you upload CSV files, inspect and clean them, and export the result. You need an account to use the workspace. The privacy note explains what is stored and why.

Your account

  • Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • One person per account. Do not share sign-in details.
  • If you think someone else has used your account, delete any data you are worried about and get in touch.

Your data

Files you upload stay yours. You allow the service to store and process them only to provide the features you use: showing, cleaning, exporting and deleting your datasets. Nothing you upload is used for anything else.

Acceptable use

  • Only upload data you have the right to use and to process with this service.
  • Do not try to reach other accounts’ data, get around the limits, or disrupt the service for others.
  • Do not upload malware or content that is unlawful to hold or share.
  • Automated use of the API must stay within its rate limits.

Limits and availability

Files are limited to 128 KiB, 1,000 data rows, 20 columns and 500 characters per cell, with up to 100 datasets per account. Features and limits may change over time. The service is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors.

Responsibility

Check exported data before you rely on it. Your original file is never changed, but keep your own copy of anything important. To the extent the law allows, the service is not responsible for indirect losses arising from its use.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from the workspace account menu; this removes every dataset with it. Access may be suspended for accounts that break these terms or put the service or other people at risk.

Changes to these terms
